We have been hearing for some time that its new browser micorosft based on Chromium will be released for Linux PCs at some point.
And Microsoft seems to mean it. We now know that Edge for Linux will finally be released and it is official.
It was first announced during the Ignite 2019 conference held in Orlando, USA, at the meeting "State of the Browser”(Approximately at 8.24). Microsoft has announced that Edge for Linux will be released sometime in 2020.
When exactly; Nobody knows, but an Edge Linux port has been around since the company first launched the stable browser for macOS and Windows 10 on January 15, 2020.
But during Build 2020, Microsoft introduced the Microsoft Edge browser running on a Linux system. This means that the company has not abandoned its plan and is still developing the Edge.
The following screenshot shows a Gnome 3 desktop running the Edge browser normally.
