Honda e, an electric vehicle expected in the 2020 spring market, will not have exterior mirrors, but cameras that will show the picture in displays inside car.
We know iGuru is not about cars, but we liked the news as a gadget. The Japanese carmaker Honda in its expected electric Honda e vehicle will not have the familiar exterior side mirrors. In their place will be the "side camera mirror system", which was presented in the original version, but as confirmed by the company on Tuesday will eventually be a feature of the car that will go into production.
The side camera mirror system (or digital mirrors) includes two six-inch screens, located on the left and right sides of the dashboard, which provide live pictures κίνησης. The driver of the Honda e will be able to select two views, one normal and one wide, through the vehicle settings. According to Honda, the two sides extend the field of view and help reduce blind spots by about 10% compared to regular mirrors and by 50% when using the wide selection.
If the driver reverses the gearbox, instructions are displayed on the side view screens. As lighting conditions change, so do the levels of brightness inside.
The car industry has big plans for it original Urban EV, now officially called "Honda e", and more generally for electric vehicles. The Honda e is expected to have a range of batteries with a range of over 124 miles and will be equipped with a "fast charge" feature that will offer an 80% charge in 30 minutes.
As the whole of Europe changes policy and migrates to clean electric cars, Honda in turn plans to bring the all-electric car to every new car model it makes for Europe. The car industry aims to have two-thirds of European sales with electric technology by 2025.
The production version of the Honda e will be unveiled within 2019. Customers can pre-order atnetwork in the UK, Germany, France and Norway or to express interest in other European markets in Honda websites of their country.
