FabSpace 2.0: Access to open data (open data) with an emphasis on satellite navigation and earth observation, to open software (open software) for their processing, to educational materials (MOOCS) and other tools that allow collaboration and open exchange to highlight social challenges and ideas and to address them and therefore innovation, seeks European consortium, with the participation of si-Cluster, with the development of the FabSpace 2.0 platform, in the eponymous project co-financed by the EE Horizon 2020 Program and launched in March at the headquarters of the coordinator, Paul Sabatier University, in Toulouse.
FabSpace 2.0 seeks to bring together civil society, industry, the academic and research community and the public sector, in a region research with a high expected socio-economic impact.
FabSpace 2.0 aims, among others, to creation 13 Κέντρων Ανοικτής Καινοτομίας (Open Innovation Centres) σε πανεπιστήμια της Ευρώπης, μεταξύ των οποίων και στο Εθνικό Μετσόβιο Πολυτεχνείο σε στενή συνεργασία με τις επιχειρήσεις και τους δημόσιους φορείς. Τα Κέντρα Ανοικτής Καινοτομίας θα παρέχουν δωρεάν υπηρεσίες μίας στάσης στους φοιτητές, ερευνητές και στο ευρύ κοινό, δίνοντας πρόσβαση σε μια σειρά από υλικά, εργαλεία, μηχανήματα και δεδομένα με στόχο τη δημιουργία νέων καινοτόμων εφαρμογών.
In the framework of the three-year durationof the project, educational seminars for students and researchers will also be implemented, 18 competitions (hackathons) will be organized at local and 3 at European level for the development of new applications that will contribute to strengthening the entrepreneurship of the domestic space industry.
Corallia, the helper of the si-Cluster, is responsible for organizing all the hackathons that will highlight the best ideas that can be transformed into business. The NTUA is responsible for the operation of the Greek Open Innovation Center and the access of students and researchers to the tools and the training it will provide, while the Greek company Terra Spatium will contribute to the development of the platform.
