Ads are coming to Facebook Messenger

What is Facebook cooking for Messenger? In previous posts we mentioned that businesses could take advantage of it για να κάνουν chat με τους πελάτες τους. Μια νέα αναφορά όμως δείχνει ότι το Facebook θα επιτρέψει επίσης στις επιχειρήσεις να στοχεύουν τους πελάτες τους με via Messenger.messenger business

A document published by TechCrunch reports that sometime in the second quarter of 2016, Facebook Messenger will have ads. But these ads will not be random.

Instead of spamming, businesses will be able to serve you ads after the end of a conversation. So if you talk to a company about when to receive a recent order, they might possibly be sending you ads for products that they think you will like.

Facebook is reportedly also allowing businesses to use custom URLs that customers can click to start a conversation.

So the format fb.com/msg/company-name will be able to be used by businesses for customer service, but also give the sending targeted advertisements.

Two things to keep in mind with this news: first, it has not yet begun, and can never start if users disapprove of the upcoming feature.

Second, if this feature becomes reality, turning off ads will not be easy, even if it is possible.

Essentially, in addition to the most obvious message of the recurring ads, there is also the metadata of the availability and recording of the preferences of the customer-user of the social network. Not that it did not exist, but it seems to be expanding….
