The Facebook it has become an important source of traffic for publishers for a long time. However, recently Facebook referral traffic has taken another turn.
According to Shareaholic, referrals from Facebook were 16,2% of 2013's total publisher's turnover in January, against an 10,4% that had reached four months earlier in September. This is mainly due to the sharp increase in referrals through the Facebook app for mobile.
As a note: The numbers show the percentage of total traffic on websites of publishers reaching 250 million unique visitors per month. With referrals from social networks, traffic includes direct traffic, organic searches, paid searches, etc.
