The Facebook just announced that it will stop using the SHA-1 encryption algorithm to encrypt its connections as of October 1, 2015.

The report recommends that certification authorities leave the SHA-1 algorithm and use SHA-2 certificates.
The Google already started the process of change since 2014 and now it seems that Facebook will follow.
