End the hashtags on Facebook

Η Tint, μια υπηρεσία ς φίλων στα κοινωνικά δίκτυα, γνωστοποίησε με ένα μήνυμα ηλεκτρονικού ταχυδρομείου στους χρήστες της, ότι το κοινωνικό Facebook has scheduled the end of its hashtag API, which allows access to hashtag data, on April 30.

Tint said the API started returning bugs since yesterday, and Facebook has confirmed it will no longer support the API used for hashtags. So services using the feature will not be able to access hashtag data and statistics, according to TNW.facebook hashtag

There are two solutions developers can consider if they want to continue using Facebook hashtags in their searches:

The Facebook Media Solutions API allows applications to return the count of posts with hashtags. This feature is available to a limited set of developers who develop solutions for media companies. Developers can request to subscribe to contentolutions@fb.com by e-mail.
In addition, the social network has a partnership with Datasift, a service that enables applications to search and receive anonymous and aggregated information from Facebok.
