Reuters – A US congressional committee has launched a research for practices security used by the Fed following a Reuters post that revealed more than 50 violations at the US Federal Reserve between 2011 and 2015.
The Parliamentary Committee on Science, Space and Technology sent a letter to Federal Reserve Bank (Fed) chairman Janet Yellen on Friday, expressing "serious concerns" about the central bank's ability to protect sensitive financial information.
The letter cited the Reuters report, which was largely based on the Central Bank's internal archives released via a request from the Freedom of Information Act. The revised records do not indicate who broke the bank's systems if he had access to sensitive information or if he stole money.
"These reports raise serious concerns about the US Federal Reserve's cyber security stance, including its ability to prevent threats of breaches of highly sensitive financial information housed in the agency's systems," the letter said. , signed by House Science Committee Chairman Lamar Smith and Barry Loudermilk.
One millionfaceof the Bank stated that they had received a letter and "will respond to it."
The committee asked the national team Federal Reserve Bank's National Incident Response Team - to hand over all evidence from attacks on the agency since January 1, 2009, to date. It also requested all incident reports from the Central Bank's local incident response teams.
However, the US Central Bank security research is not the only one to be ordered. A separate investigation will be carried out by the same committee at the Federal Reserve Bank to handle New York in the theft of 81 million dollars from one of its bills through the central bank of Bangladesh.
The committee asked for answers to its questions by June 17
