Mohan Boddu has announced the release of a new snapshot development of Fedora. The new development release, Fedora 32 Beta, includes EarlyOOM to "kill" memory-consuming processes before they affect the operating system.
The beta version also includes GNOME 3.36 which comes with a lot of performance improvements.
"In the new Fedora 32 Workstation Beta, EarlyOOM is enabled by default. EarlyOOM allows users to quickly regain control of their system in low memory states with heavy use of the swap compartment.
Fedora 32 Workstation Beta also has the fs.trim timer enabled by default, which improves performance and wear balance on SSDs.
Fedora 32 Workstation Beta includes comes with GNOME 3.36, its latest version surfaceGNOME desktop, featuring many performance improvements. GNOME 3.36 features a “Do Not Disturb” button for notifications, improved parental controls and virtualization, along with new tweaks to Settings.
