FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is the pan-Hellenic conference of free software and open source software communities code. It is aimed mainly at developers, students and generally anyone interested in open source regardless of their knowledge background.
Συμμετέχουν κοινότητες ανοιχτού λογισμικού, όπως η Ένωση Ελλήνων Χρηστών και Φίλων Linux (HELLUG), ομάδες προγραμματιστών και συντελεστών έργων όπως Mozilla, Fedora, OpenSuse, KDE, κλπ. Το περιεχόμενο είναι ευρέως ενδιαφέροντος, από τεχνικά ζητήματα και workshops, μέχρι μεταφράσεις, νομικά θέματα, θέματα πολιτικής σχετικά με το ελεύθερο/ανοιχτό λογισμικό κ.α. Η συμμετοχή δεν έχει κόστος enrollments.
FOSSCOMM usually lists some hundreds of participants, with the highest turnout so far recorded in the 2011 Patras event, with about 450 entries. It is held annually by 2008 and to date 6 has been organized in different cities. The event is organized by volunteers and its funding is based on sponsorships and donations.
FOSSCOMM 2018 will take place at the Department of Computer Science University of Crete, at Vouton University of Heraklion. You can find photos, maps and data communication on the departmental website.
