The FOSSCOMM (Free and Open Source Software Communities Meeting) is the pan-Hellenic conference of free software and open source software communities code. It is aimed mainly at developers, students and generally anyone interested in open source regardless of their knowledge background.
Open software communities are involved, such as the Union of Greek Linux Users and Friends (HELLUG), developer groups and project contributors such as Mozilla, Fedora, OpenSuse, KDE, etc. The content is of wide interest, from technical issues and workshops, to translations, legal themethe, policy issues regarding free/open software etc. There is no registration fee to participate.
FOSSCOMM usually lists some hundreds of participants, with the highest turnout so far recorded in the 2011 Patras event, with about 450 entries. It is held annually by 2008 and to date 6 has been organized in different cities. The event is organized by volunteers and its funding is based on sponsorships and donations.
