The German company ασφάλειας G Data μόλις κυκλοφόρησε την εφαρμογή Secure Chat for Android. What does the app do? Its free version supports three main features:
- Supports encrypted SMS,
- Encrypted group conversations and
- Messages that self-destruct after a specified period of time.
The application requires several rights, but most, if not all, seem reasonable for an application of its kind.
The G Data app requires you to verify your account via SMS verification, which will allow you to use the same account and on other devices, among others.
The process is automated. If it fails, you will be able to verify with a voice call.
Once you're done with the original settings, you'll be able to support all of the features mentioned above.
The app works just like any other text messaging app currently on the market. Click on icon plus (+) to select a contact from your contact list to send a message. If the recipient does not have Secure Chat installed, the app will send SMS without encryption.
The feature of self-destructing messages only works if all recipients use Secure Chat and not just SMS.
