G7 leaders at their conference in Britain, requested from Russia to arrest ransomware groups believed to be operating within its borders, following a series of which targeted international organizations and critical sectors of other countries. They also expressed their commitment to work together to address the growing threat of ransomware as a global challenge.

Recall that at the beginning of May, the team realized ransomware attack on the American company Colonial Pipeline and effectively forced President Biden to declare the east coast of America a state of emergency and eventually pay a $ 5 million ransom.

The White House reiterated the United States' commitment to fighting ransomware groups, along with other G7 Member States, in statement posted over the weekend.
