After iOS 7 was released, the sender's full name was lost in text messages (SMS). If you have many people with the same name in your contacts, this could be a serious problem. There is, however, a simple setting that can add a small frame to be sure of the sender.
Of course you can't have the full name as seen in older iOS but you will be able to add the initial of the last name or the first name, depending on the choice your. Follow the steps below:
- Open the Settings app.
- Click Mail, Contacts, and Calendars.
- Under Contacts, click Short Name.
- At screen that will open choose how you want to display the name, as in the photo below
