What makes Secusmart's modified BlackBerry 10 different is the hardware suite encryptions SecuSuite that it has. This includes ECC (Elliptic Curve Cryptography) features, authentication of the interlocutor and 128-bit AES encryption. The SecuSuite encryption suite is "embedded" in a special microSD memory card which offers additional secure memory to the device for storing important data.
However, for the above security parameters to apply, both parties must have the modified BlackBerry. Otherwise, i.e. if one of the interlocutors has an audience mobile phone, the communication will remain vulnerable to interception.
Secusmart's move comes at a time when security concerns (telephony and electronics) are peaking globally.
