When most people walk along a white sandy beach in Corsica, they do so to admire its beautiful scenery, let alone pick up some seashells as a souvenir. But when the handsomeart Gilles Cenazandotti walking on the beach does it to pick up rubbish.
As a child of Corsica, she walked to her beaches and picked up rubbish to build castles. Today, as an adult, he collects rubbish and creates three-dimensional collages made of fuzzy pieces of plastic that are mooted on the shore.
Cenazandotti's latest collection is called Future Bestiary and it's a tribute prices for the livestock whose lives are threatened by pollution.
The series combines Rachel Carson's activist instincts with talent, intense colors and Walt Disney cartoons.
In his hands Cenazandotti sunburned bottles, sandals, and other litter of garbage are transformed into an artefactuary featuring leopards, hyenas, and other exotic creatures.
