(Reuters) - Police on Friday arrested a 12-year-old Colorado girl accused of trying to kill her mother twice with bleach when she took her iPhone. Let's see what happened:
The Boulder County Sheriff, Heidi Prentup, said the mother drank the caustic fluid in one of her daughter's two attempts. Both attempts occurred within a week.
On March 2, the girl put the bleach on one brown at breakfast she had prepared for her mother, Prentup said.
"The mother noticed the smell of bleach in the coffee and thought that her daughter probably would not have cleaned the cup well," the police statement said.
The woman, whose name was not mentioned by the authorities for obvious reasons, went to the local hospital and in a few hours she got discharged and went home. But her adventure continued a few days later.
Four days later, the 12-year-old allegedly put the bleach in a carafe water that her mother had in her bedroom. When the woman smelled the bleach again, she realized that something suspicious was happening and suspected her daughter.
"It was then that she learned that her daughter had devised a whole plan to kill her because he took her iPhone"Says the police.
Prentup said the mother reported the girl to the police, and that the authorities gathered enough evidence to detain her.
The girl was transferred to a detention center on Friday, where she will be detained until the warranty is paid.
