H by clicking here GNU.org has an interesting post in the “Philosophy of the GNU Project” category. Briefly describes its software Microsoft as malware. With Microsoft also mentions Apple and Amazon.
We can not know why these statements are on the GNU.org website, but what gives them particular weight is the fact that the site is backed by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) or the Free Software Foundation.
The Free Software Foundation is committed to developing and promoting software for the needs of users without seeking a profit. The event allows the Foundation not to cheer on its words.
To be fair though, we should mention what it defines as malware the Free Software Foundation.
Proprietary software is often malware [1]
- "Malware": translation of the source term "malware".
The FSF states that "Malware means software that is designed to work in ways that misuse or harm the user." It makes no mention of the fact that some users may already know what is going on in their computers.
Continuing FPS states that Windows systems have a hidden backdoors and that in Windows 10 it is used for automatic installation of updates, but also to remotely disable apps. Microsoft continues to first notify the NSA of security holes before addressing them, and it stops shipping Windows XP, except for the few companies that continue to pay.
As you can imagine, the Foundation also reported on Windows 10's default settings, which allow Microsoft to spy on its customers, that the encryption drives in Windows 10 sends the keys to Microsoft, and that the company's OneDrive allows the NSA to directly control user data.
Apple and Amazon did not escape the GNU.org website, but the allegations are "mistakes" in front of the "crimes" of Microsoft.
