The "Open Day 5: Engineer your Future" concluded yesterday, Monday, May 2014, at the National Research Center, by EESTEC, the Pan-European Student Organization of Electrical Engineers with support of Google. The event was attended by 130 students, with delegations from 35 cities, representing over 20 different countries.
The purpose of the event was to capture the difficulties faced by students and young graduates in their efforts to engage in Stratups and to present them to the relevant political and institutional bodies in order to provide concrete answers and appropriate solutions.
At the same time, the purpose of the event was to create a database that will record and present systematically and methodically the required steps that the new entrepreneur needs to take for the creation of his first start up.
The event, open day, is part of the "Idea(l) Environment" initiative that started last weekteam with relevant thematic working groups at ASOE and NTUA, in order to make the first registration, but also to thoroughly discuss the basic bureaucratic, administrative, financial, legal, and other problems faced by "student entrepreneurship".
The results of the working groups were presented to the relevant political, economic and business actors who participated in the "Open day", who in turn undertook to give specific answers and tangible solutions to the key questions of the students, while pledging that today's event should to be the starting point of a wider dialogue and cooperation for the promotion of institutional solutions and the rationalization of youth entrepreneurship in Greece.
As Dionysis Kolokotsas stated, Public Google Policy Manager “This is an attempt to find practical solutions. Electrical and Computer Engineering students in collaboration with students of Economics and Business schools undertook this very important initiative: to mobilize the state, the business community and the involved bodies to rapidly advance the necessary institutional improvements for the benefit of young and student entrepreneurship.
