Apparently an apology wasn't enough. If you remember Google was forced to apologize for it picture which was uploaded to the Google Maps service on last month from the Map Maker map development application.
The image, as you can see above, showed its green Android companys to urinate the Apple logo. So the company is shutting down its map development tool, Map Maker, starting today, until it can properly respond to cases of malicious use.
Spam modifications to the company's map service have been staggered over the past few months, to the point where its team map Maker he has a problem with her support of changes made by each user accessing the tool.
So until they figure out a way to provide more security and control to that service, map editors will freeze from May 12.
In a publication in the company forum a team member (Pavithra Kanakarajan) he says:
"We think it is fairer to say that since we do not have the ability to review all the changes at the pace that are coming, we should pause."
Google is trying to develop new ways for the process of reviewing the changes made through Map Maker especially after the "scandal" of Android.
In the past the control was extremely relaxed, and each treatment had to be checked manually by the responsible. So it is not clear when the service will return.
You can imagine that developing a reliable control tool will probably take quite a while.
