After first reporting Duo at the I/O conference in May, Google today released the cross-platform donation app to Android and iOS.
Duo lets you make one-on-one video calls with anyone else with the app. At the moment, it has only basic features and one of these is the Knock Knock, which lets you see live videos from your conversation before you even talk.
Google says it developed the Duo app with speed and simplicity in mind. The application sets the analysis of video depending on your connection speed automatically, and ensures that all calls are fully encrypted.
The Duo app does not connect to other Google communication apps, such as Hangouts. This means that the only way to win customers is to offer exceptional services, especially when you consider that there are so many competitors.
The application is released via Google Play and App Store.
