Η Google and OVHcloud started a partnership for creation new cloud solutions for the European market.
The new collaboration announced today Tuesday, από την OVHcloud και ανέφερε ότι η "στρατηγική συνεργασία" θα επικεντρωθεί στην ανάπτυξη προϊόντων κατάλληλων για τις αυστηρές απαιτήσεις ασφάλειας και απορρήτου των δεδομένων της Ευρώπης, και του Γενικού Κανονισμού Προστασίας Δεδομένων της ΕΕ (GDPR).
Google is a major provider of cloud solutions worldwide, but OVHcloud also has many customers, especially in Europe. The French company already has over 400.000 servers and 31 data centers.
Η OVHcloud θα αναπτύξει μια νέα υπηρεσία "Hosted Private Cloud", βασισμένη στην ενσωμάτωση του Anthos της Google στη δική της υποδομή, την οποία θα διαχειρίζεται η Γαλλική εταιρεία-πάροχος cloud.
"Είμαστε ενθουσιασμένοι που υπογράφουμε την πρώτη μας συνεργασία αυτού του είδους με την OVHcloud", ανέφερε ο Thomas Kurian, Διευθύνων Σύμβουλος του Google Cloud.
"Ακούγοντας τους πελάτες μας, τους συνεργάτες και τους υπευθύνους χάραξης πολιτικής στην Ευρώπη, κατανοούμε την ανάγκη τους για ακόμη μεγαλύτερο έλεγχο και αυτονομία. Το αντιμετωπίζουμε με πολλούς τρόπους και ανυπομονούμε να συνεχίσουμε να υλοποιούμε τις δεσμεύσεις απέναντι στους πελάτες μας με αυτό τον τρόπο".
Let me mention that OVH started sometime in 2000 as a financial server company, for French citizens. Initially you could not get a server from the company if you were not French.
Little by little it expanded and allowed distribution servers and except France, initially with associate distributors (see kimsufi).
Today it is considered one of the big players in the European market, but personally I am not happy with them services that I have tried with them.
I hope that with the agreement announced today they will get a better Cloud. Ideally they should offer Google Cloud quality at OVH prices.
