Google Liftware: Google doesn't just invest money in big ones projects, αλλά και σε ταπεινά κουτάλια. Αυτά τα κουτάλια όμως (όχι δεν τα αποκαλούμε spoogles) είναι κάτι παραπάνω από ένα βασικό σκεύος: Χρησιμοποιώντας εκατοντάδες αλγορίθμους, θα επιτρέπουν στους people with diseases such as Parkinson's to enjoy their food without spilling it.
This technology perceives how a hand shakes and makes it possible for immediate adjustments to the utensil to stay balanced. In clinical trials, Liftware spoons showed reduced shaking of the spoon by an average of 76 per cent.
"We want to help people in their daily lives and we hope to understand the disease better in the long run," said Google spokeswoman Katelin Jabbari.
"It's like a novel," Dr. Neurologist Dr. Jill Ostrem, who specializes in motor disorders such as Parkinson's disease and works at the UC San Francisco Medical Center.
She also helped with the project, advising the inventors and testing it device, finding that it offered several advantages to some of her patients.
"I have some patients who could not eat on their own, they needed someone to feed them. "Now they can eat on their own," he said. "It does not cure the disease but it is a very positive change."
