Android Police states that the latest version of the app has a new “Driving Mode"That will be useful to you when you already know the way to your destination. You can activate it through the app and the new feature will guess exactly where you are going, based on your searches and location history.
It will then give you traffic updates and estimated time of arrival based on traffic on the streets.
Driving Mode, as we mentioned above, is available in version 9.19 of Google Maps for Android (caution trial version) and which already has start to be distributed by informal channels. If you do not have the new version yet, you can try to install the APK yourself.
However, it's worth noting that you'll need to configure the app to enable the feature, and Android Police reportedly had difficulty with the settings. Hopefully this one theme will be settled once the app is made available through the official channels.
There is currently no information on when the iOS application driver will be released.
