As reports of the catastrophic earthquake that occurred in Nepal last morning continue to come, Google has begun to work Person Finder, a crowdsourced, missing database.
The company's goal is to help victims of the earthquake find their loved ones.
The online application Person Finder, which offers support in English and Nepali languages, allows users to search for their lost friends and family members with name their. Interested parties can even share information if there are reports of someone.
Google launched the 2010 Person Finder for the first time after Haiti's devastating earthquake, and has since apparently developed the app by testing it over several other major natural disasters such as earthquakes in India and Turkey.
Until Saturday afternoon, about 1.700 reports had been posted.
The earthquake was 7.8 Richter size and is reported to be the worst hit the poor country of South Asia in the last 80 years. The dead had almost reached 1.400, and searches continue.
