Google Play launches Change the Game Design Challenge for students

Google Play announced the contest “ the Game Design Challenge” (Change the design of games) which is aimed at students who will submit ideas for prototypes for .

Aude Gandon, Google Play CEO, said in a post: "From today, we accept applications for the 2020 Change the Game Design Challenge. And with schools closed due to the pandemic, many students spend more time at home, so let's take a break. "

Students can apply s 13 to 18 years old, and at the same time together with the application they can submit their idea for an original mobile game.

The registrations will be open from May 11 to July 31 and then Google Play will hold online workshops from June that will last until the end of the summer. If selected for the workshop, participants are grouped with other players for a four-session program, which aims to develop games hosted by Girls Make Games.

In these sessions, participants will learn to design, animate and publish their game alongside experts in the field. Upon completion, participants will keep an original game software and receive all course materials, one and a new Chromebook to pursue their game development ambitions.

The program is designed for those who are passionate about their job and ready to use their imagination to make a difference, Gandon said. No previous game development experience required.
