Η Google just announced Project Tango, a prototype Android smartphone equipped with 3D sensors like those of Kinect. The device is already available in a limited team developers for further application development.
Η συσκευή χρησιμοποιεί αισθητήρες για την παρακολούθηση της κίνησης και τη δημιουργία ενός χάρτη του περιβάλλοντός σας. Σε αντίθεση με άλλες Appliances that use 3D sensors like the Kinect sensors, the Project Tango prototype will run on a Myriad, a processor from Movidius, which will allow the creation of sophisticated motion and depth without crazy system requirements.
Project Tango's advanced technology is signed by Google's Advanced Technology and Projects (ATAP) team, as well as ATAP head Johnny Lee (former member of Google's Kinect team Microsoft). TechCrunch reports that the prototype “seeks to bring mobile devices that seem to understand space and motion. .. enabling new and improved user experiences,”
