Upgrade for Google Wallet

Το Google Wallet, το «ηλεκτρονικό πορτοφόλι» της αμερικανικής εταιρείας, πρόσθεσε μία νέα λειτουργία, μέσω s, which concerns both the Android and iOS versions.

The new feature is called "Orders" () και επιτρέπει στον κάτοχο του Google Wallet να παρακολουθεί online τις παραγγελίες που έχει πραγματοποιήσει, ενώ παράλληλα διατηρεί αρχείο προηγούμενων ηλεκτρονικών παραγγελιών. Όλες οι παραπάνω will be downloaded to the user's Gmail account.

Additionally, Google will soon be able to offer an alert for the forthcoming order delivery. For this reason, it works with the largest distributors in the United States, such as FedEx, UPS and USPS.

Also, the Google Wallet app will be able to "track" the user's location to promote special store deals located in its wider area. Of course, this tracking function can be disabled if the user wants it.

Upgrade is only available for the United States market and for users with Android 4.0 or above, and users with iOS 6.0 or higher.

Android 4.1 and above users could track the progress of their order using Google Now, which receives information from users' email and displays the status of each online order.

With the above upgrades, Google wants to gain a comparative advantage against the competition, such as PayPal Wallet, which although it is considered a better known and more trusted "digital wallet" in , δεν διαθέτει ανάλογη λειτουργία παρακολούθησης παραγγελιών. Προφανώς, η ουσιαστική διαφορά ανάμεσα στα is that Google has the important "help" of Gmail, which PayPal does not.
