The Financial Police & Cybercrime Prosecution Service arrested yesterday (22.10.2013) in the morning, a 35-year-old citizen, website administrator, against whom a case file was filed for violation of the copyright law.
In more detail, there had previously been a complaint by a representative of the Society for the Protection of Audiovisual Works "E.P.O.E.", according to which the specific website provided the possibility to users of Internet, to watch and/or "download" audio-visual works, such as Greek and foreign films and television series, for which the distribution and projection rights belong exclusively to its member companies.
The website also referred to corresponding illegal online links with related content and, according to the complainants, subscribers could make financial "donations" through the paypal money transfer company so as to "raise" the level of accessibility on the website.
It followed a thorough online analysis and investigation, in the context of the removal of the confidentiality of the communications, via the Internet, following the publication of a relevant Prosecution Order, which generated the electronic "traces" of the administrator of the particular blog.
In research held at his home, in Peristeri Attica, in the presence of a Judicial Officer, one (1) internal hard drive, who will be sent to forensic laboratories, while the on-site digital autopsy found that the 35-year-old citizen is indeed the administrator of the website, who was arrested.
35, with the case file that was filed against him, was taken yesterday (22.10.2013) to the Athens Prosecutor's Office.
