Two cases of "piracy" of subscription satellite services in areas of Heraklion, Crete, have been identified by the Office of the Economic Police and Electronic Crime Enforcement.
For these cases, ordinary case files were filed against two nationals, ages 41 and 46, who were accused of violating intellectual property law and protecting subscription services.
In more detail, the investigation of the cases began after lawsuits, to the Economic Police & Cybercrime Prosecution Service, by attorneys-at-lawconditions anonymous companies providing services in electronic mass media. The lawsuits related to satellite "piracy" of the services provided by these companies Companies, through illegal distribution of their television signal, to a large number of "subscribers".
In particular, in the first case it was reported that the 41-year-old provided through the shop he kept in region of Heraklion, Crete, the ability to watch subscription channels for a large number of users, without paying a subscription to the provider company.
In a search of his store, one (1) internal hard drive was found and confiscated disc computer, which will be sent to forensic laboratories, for the necessary laboratory tests.
In the second case, according to the complaint, unknown internet users working as a group and using servers and illegally modified decoders illegally shared encryption-decryption-decrypting electronic keys to internet users.
From the digital survey conducted in the context of the execution of a relevant Talk to remove communications secrecy, it was found that one of the owners of the electronic traces is 46-old national.
The preliminary investigation against the parties will be submitted to the Prosecutor's Office of Heraklion, Crete.
