Ο website of a Greek newspaper appears to have been breached when it published an article insulting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Saturday morning, its homepage Democracy News was replaced by a Turkish message that read:
"The Turks are here, where are you?" By noon the message had been removed, but the page is still down.
The Republic published an article on its front page on Friday, which offended Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to call the Greek ambassador.
In a statement, the Greek Foreign Ministry condemned the use of offensive language, saying it did not reflect the country's political culture.
