The Hobart Airport website at Australia was deactivated, following an attack by a Islamic State (IS) group during the weekend.
The message of the hackers, which was posted on the website on Sunday, has been removed as airport technicians try to take control of the website, and has been replaced with a statement from the company saying the site is down.
"We are sorry, the airport website Hobart it is not working at the moment ", the message states. "We are working to get it back as soon as possible. To check flight times, you can visit the relevant airline website. We apologize for any inconvenience. "
The Tasmanian Police, in which the incident was reported on Sunday morning, said the messages are identical to those that appear on thousands of websites around the world since the end of 2014.
“The group that claimed responsibility for the hack appears to be targeting organizations and services using web hosts such as those used by Hobart International Airport," a police statement said.
The statement, published late Sunday night, also states that a police investigation is in progress.
The incident comes just days after the hack of French TV5Monde, which was hit by an "unprecedented" attack, in retaliation for France's support for military operations against ISIS.
Η επίθεση αυτή χτύπησε συστήματα πληροφορικής και τον εξοπλισμό μετάδοσης του καναλιού. Οι hackers μπόρεσαν να αναρτήσουν μηνύματα για την υποστήριξη του IS, καθώς και έγγραφα που υποτίθεται ότι αποκαλύπτουν τις identities of relatives of French soldiers participating in operations against ISIS, according to Agence France-Presse.
"The attack affected all 11 of our channels, nine in general and two in particular, which were shut down," TV5Monde CEO Yves Bigot said in a video posted to his Facebook account on April 9.
