The Hobart Airport website at Australia was deactivated, following an attack by a Islamic State (IS) group during the weekend.
The hackers' message, which was posted on the website on Sunday, has been removed as airport technicians try to take control of the website, and has been replaced with a statement from companys stating that the site is not working.
"We are sorry, the airport website Hobart it is not working at the moment ", the message states. "We are working to get it back as soon as possible. To check flight times, you can visit the relevant airline website. We apologize for any inconvenience. "
Tasmania Police, which were alerted to the incident on Sunday morning, said the messages were identical to those appearing on thousands of websites worldwide since late 2014.
“The group that claimed responsibility for the hack appears to be targeting organizations and services using web hosts such as those used by Hobart International Airport," a police statement said.
The statement, published late Sunday night, also states that a police investigation is in progress.
The incident comes just days after the hack of French TV5Monde, which was hit by an "unprecedented" attack, in retaliation for France's support for military operations against ISIS.
"The attack affected all 11 of our channels, nine in general and two in particular, which were shut down," TV5Monde CEO Yves Bigot said in a video posted to his Facebook account on April 9.
