TRENDnet: Wi-Fi routers are now really powerful, with a good broadcast signal to and from many devices at the same time, while they can also maintain a strong internet connection through a wirelessυ σημείου πρόσβασης ή μέσω ενός 3G δρομολογητή, ή μέσω μίας φυσικής καλωδιακής σύνδεσης.
However, walls and furniture always affect the strength of the signal and so some parts of a home or even a large part of it may be out of range of the router. That is, the signal strength is so weak that it can not connect properly to any PC.
That's why the digital device company TRENDnet just released a device that extends the wireless network to the places you want, and at the same time integrates an intelligent remote-controlled socket.
It's called THA-101, and should be placed in an area where the Wi-Fi signal is not satisfactory, that is, at least 2 lines. Then you need to install an application and you will instantly see your wireless signal across all corners of your home.
The built-in plug allows you to plug in a light or fan (located on the front of the THA-101) and after installing a free app for Apple or Android, you will be able to access them via the internet. That is, the THA-101-specific application will let you turn the power on or off from any mobile device that has an Internet connection. The application also allows you to remotely operate the socket by a timer or randomly.
The application also displays real-time energy consumption information, such as current consumption (in mA), voltage, power (in watts), and total power usage (in kW).
Δυστυχώς, η πρίζα TRENDnet δεν έχει ακόμα κάποια αντίστοιχη συσκευή για το ηλεκτρικό δίκτυο της Ελλάδας. Η Αμερικάνικη έκδοση πάντως που κυκλοφορεί κοστίζει 63,99 δολάρια (περίπου 52 ευρώ). Ευελπιστούμε να τη δούμε και στα ράφια των Ελληνικών καταστημάτων αφού οι μέχρι τώρα οι τηλεχειριζόμενες πρίζες έχουν το δικό τους χειριστήριο, δεν συνδέονται στο διαδίκτυο, δεν καταγράφουν την κατανάλωση και οι αναμεταδότες wi-fi είναι απλές συσκευές χωρίς κάποια άλλη λειτουργία. Εκτός φυσικά αν έχετε τα χρήματα να στήσετε στο σπίτι σας ένα ολοκληρωμένο αλλά πανάκριβο σύστημα managementς ενέργειας βασισμένο στο BEMS (Building Energy Management Systems) or in the newer KNX protocol.
