Honda cars have been hit by a 2022 bug, also known as the Y2K22, which resets the navigation clock to January 1, 2002, without any change.
From 1 January 2022, the date on system navigation systems in Honda and Acura (a subsidiary of Honda) cars will automatically change on January 1, 2002, with reset of the hour at 12:00, 2:00, 4:00 or other times with base the model or possibly the region where the car is located.
Honda and Acura car owners report that Y2K22 error affects almost all older cars, including Honda models Pilot, Odyssey, CRV, Ridgeline, and Acura models MDX, RDX, CSX and TL.
Although it is not clear what causes the Honda / Acura error, last weekend, the microsoft Exchange was hit by a Y2K22 bug that froze email delivery. Microsoft's bug was caused by storing the date in an int32 variable that has limits on its maximum value and caused the software to crash.
The same error can affect Honda and Acura cars. THE Honda Customer Service said that the problem should be resolved on its own in August 2022, indicating that it may be a different issue from Microsoft
Of course as a solution it is unacceptable, and we believe that it is very difficult for Honda and Acura to force a car owner wait seven months for an auto-repair and that a navigation and troubleshooting update will likely be released.
