At the time, however, we did not know which hotels had been affected, nor the extent of the damage. In a statement issued by company today, it announces that the payment systems at all 250 resorts were breached, and massively infected with malware that stole all of its customers' card details.
Hyatt's hotel chain reported that its payment systems are being affected by malware in collecting payment card details from the retail, spa, golf, parking, and check-office offices in the 50 -in the company!
The hack allegedly took place between July 13 and December 8 last year, and leaked credit card numbers, customer names, expiration dates and verification codes of each cards.
Hyatt Hotels reports that it eventually managed to clear its systems from contamination and install additional safety valves in hopes of hampering future attacks.
