Good morning.

A major, global cyber police operation, codenamed 'HYDRA', has come to an end by the Electronic Crime Prosecution Directorate of the Hellenic Police, with very important results.

The operation was long-term, lasted more than seven months and aimed to combat the phenomenon of possession and trafficking of child pornography material, through .

During the operation we identified a total of seventy seven (78) users - perpetrators, whose electronic traces appear in thirty two (32) different countries of the world.

More detail, from our country, we found traces of pedophiles in Germany, Russia, USA, Great Britain, France, Poland, Sweden, China, Czech Republic, Iran, Netherlands, Italy, Switzerland, Brazil, Peru, Venezuela, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia , South Africa, Colombia and Georgia, Lebanon, Sri Lanka, Australia, Canada, Portugal, Mexico, Bahamas, Austria, Slovenia and Belgium.

For online research, we launched the TLO (Electronic Traffic Signal Scanning Software) featured by the Electronic Crime Investigation Division to identify traces of Internet users trafficking child pornography.

With regard to our country, we have formed three (3) self-contained papers and captured by Xonum and Attica three (3) individuals, two of whom are 34 and 25-age nationals and one foreign national of Bulgaria 47. Against them, criminal prosecution for child pornography was conducted via the internet.

In particular, 21-11-2013, following an online survey, identified the criminal action of a 34 Chronos resident who traded hard child pornography through a PEER TO PEER (PEX TOX) file sharing program on the internet.

Following the appropriate use of the 34-time arrests and traces of the arrested person and in collaboration with the relevant Prosecuting Authorities, we performed the time from 28-11-2013 to 22-01-2014, a targeted web penetration research on this file sharing program aiming at finding and identifying other users who possessed and shared child pornography material.

In addition, 28-04-2014 was captured in Ioannina by 47, a pediatrician, a Bulgarian national. In a survey carried out in his home, in the presence of a Prosecutor, we found in a variety of digital storage media a number of "hard" child pornographyrelated by 29-04-2014 Press Release of the Hellenic Police Force Headquarters).

By order of the Prosecutor's Office of Ioannina, the data of the 47th old pediatrician and the criminal prosecution against him (related by 03-05-2014 Press Release of the Hellenic Police Force Headquarters).

As we have already announced, it is ZAHARIEV (op.) ZVETLOZAR of Gueorguiev and Jorgania, born at 10.10.1967 in Bulgaria.

At the expense of him, he was prosecuted for the supply and possession of child pornography material, using the internet, the production of which is linked to the use of a minor who has not completed the 15 years, by a habitually responsible person.

The pediatrician held a central role in a closed group of users of the particular file sharing program, whose members used special tricks, απόκρυψης ηλεκτρονικής and encryption, to cover their illegal activity on the internet.

Then 25-04-2014 was captured in Attica, 25, on the portable computer of which we found stored files (videos and photos) of pornographic material for minors (related by 09-05-2014 Press Release of the Hellenic Police Force Headquarters).

The migrated files we detected and seized were sent to the Criminal Laboratories for further consideration, and for many of them it emerged that they were new material, "hard" child pornography.

The aggregate data generated by the business for the above-mentioned countries have already been sent to INTERPOL and EUROPOL to identify other program users, the exact number of files they hold, and to identify potential victims of child pornography.

Those arrested in the case filed against them were brought to the appropriate Prosecutor's Office.

It is noted that this is the first time the Electronic Crime Prosecutor's Office plans, organizes, coordinates and implements such a large-scale police operation on the global web site.

The message and the answer of the business is that the Prefecture enforcement authorities are alert. No pedophile does not remain immature. Their criminal activity is revealed and accountable to the Justice.

Answers to questions about the timing of the police operation, the way the program users are acting and the particular characteristics of the company will be given to you by the Chief of Electronic Crime Division, Brigadier Emmanuel Sfakianakis.
