Will MIT students make the idea of Elon Musk a reality? If you do not remember the Hyperloop, let's remind you that it is a very ambitious design of Elon Musk, as well as all its well-known designs.
Αφορά ένα γρήγορο "τρένο" που θα κινείται σε μια "σωλήνα" και θα πιάνει τα 800 μίλια την ώρα.
Although quite busy launching rockets at the moment, Musk appeared at Texas A&M University for a Q&A session that lasted 30 minutes in an audience of 100 teams aspiring to design the super train.
MIT's team, along with other 21, will have the chance to test their plans on a one-mile test track built by Musk's SpaceX next to its facilities in California.
Musk first announced his plans for the construction of a five-mile test track in Texas. It looks like the SpaceX company will build two short- and long-range runways in different locations.
The idea for the pipe train 2013 was first reported, with its demanding budget of $10 billion. It will move with solar power, and will reach almost 800 MPH (miles per hour).
That means it will be about 300 MPH faster than a regular passenger car airplane.
Musk had stated that he would not deal with the Hyperloop project but that he was willing to support anyone who wanted to take it.
However, the idea of involving teams from different Universities in the country is very smart and we believe it will bring results. In design at least.
