H Intel ανακοίνωσε πρόσφατα τον πρώτο 10-πύρηνο επεξεργαστή (10-core CPU) για desktops, με το name Intel 10 Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition, στην έκθεση Computex. Να αναφέρουμε ότι η εταιρεία είχε 10-core επεξεργαστές Xeon για servers από το 2011. Ο νέος επεξεργαστής θα τρέχει στα 3GHz (με ώθηση ταχύτητας έως και 3.5GHz), με 25MB μνήμης cache και θα διαθέτει τη νέα technology of Intel Turbo Boost 3.0. 
The only unpleasant thing about the news is the CPU value since the Intel 10 Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition will cost 1.723 dollars.
Intel claims it's twice as fast as the quad-core i7 6700K in 3D rendering, and 35% faster than the latest Core i7-5960X.
As far as the 4K video processing is concerned, it is 65% faster than the same quad-core chip and 25% faster than the previous i7.
Let's talk about gaming: It is 25 percent faster than 5960X, for gaming on 4K during the coding broadcast 1080p Twitch stream. Basically, if you work with large volumes of content on a daily basis, it could be the ideal processor for you.
The new Intel 10 Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition will also be available in one version of the 8-core version (the i7-6900K costs $1.089) and 6-core variants ($617 for the i7-6850K and $434 for the i7-6800K). Of course, it's completely unlocked so you can overclock wherever you want.
All new chips support DDR4-2400 RAM.
