Facebook rewarded a 10-year-old Finnish boy who discovered a security bug in the Instagram with 10.000 dollars. The bug allowed the 10-year-old hacker to delete that content wanted from Facebook's image service.
Janni reported the issue to Facebook at the end of February and received the money as a reward in March. To prove the bug, Janni deleted a message to one of Instagram's test accounts.
After receiving a check, Janni can be considered the youngest Facebook security researcher to be awarded for discovery some bug. The previous smallerhe was 13 years old.
According to the Finnish newspaper Iltalehti, Janni learned the basics of coding and video security on YouTube.
Janni of course mentioned that he plans to become a security researcher and that he will use the reward to buy a new bike, and new computers for two his brothers.
