Joomla has reached version 3.5.0, adding a lot characteristics, with full PHP 7 support and twice the speed.
First of all, the Joomla 3.5 is the first version to fully support PHP 7, the latest major version of PHP.
PHP 7 support has done wonders for Joomla, as its developers report that the new 3.5 version is twice as fast when running in PHP 7, and also consumes half the memory over previous versions.
The second major feature added in version 3.5 is extremely interesting for them Webmasters, especially those who are obsessed with security updates. Joomla now includes a system notices by email that automatically checks the servers for a new version, and then sends an email to the administrator.
Other additional features are the new built-in statistics function that collects data and anonymously sends it to Joomla servers. The Joomla team says they will use this data to gather more accurate information about how users develop them CMS, the kind of servers, the type of database, and all the things that will help Jomla developers adapt and optimize their CMS. All the data gathered will be available to the public, and everyone will be able to check them.
In addition, Joomla 3.5 supports drag-and-drop image integration, counts articles, and has a special feature that allows the user to download useful system and environment debugging information on their own site.
The new Joomla 3.5 version is of course free, open source codeAnd available through the GitHub page.
