Kali Linux is a Debian-based distribution with a collection of security - criminology tools.
The project's latest release, Kali Linux 2020.4, makes zsh the default command-line shell, guides new users in Frconditions of the distribution when linking them and adjusts the bash shell to appear more like zsh.
In our previous quarterly release, 2020.3, we focused on switching from Bash to zsh as our default shell (where possible).
We are pleased to announce that after testing and user feedback, the change done. Say hello to zsh. A thank you to everyone who provided positive and constructive feedback.
We are happy with that and hope you are too. We know we can't thank you all together (so if you want to go back to Bash, run the command:
'chsh -s /bin/bash').”
More information with me screenshots of the new bash shell can be found at announcement of the new version.
