The company Kantar Worldpanel has released its latest report on the global smartphone market, which concerns the quarter ending last March.
Kantar's reports describe the situation in the main mobile phone markets, i.e. Europe (Germany, UK, France, Spain, Italy), USA, China, Australia and in Japan.
Altogether, in European markets, iOS is gaining slightly, and now stands at 19,2%, while Android records 70,7 share increased by 1,5% compared to last year. Microsoft Windows Phone moves to 8,1%, vs. 6,5% last year.
In individual European markets, Italy appears from the most powerful markets for Microsoft, where it has a share of 13,9%, showing an annual increase of 3%. The first place on the Italian Peninsula maintains Android with a share of 70,7%, versus 62,5% last year.
The smallest increase for Windows Phone is seen in Germany (0,5%), while Android dominates, which from 73,6% last year is rising to 77%. In Spain, Android moved down from 93,7% to 88,6%, while Windows Phone recorded a share of 3% and iOS 7,6%, rising by 4,5%, compared to last year.

This trend may change as there is now intense competition in this category with the appearance of Motorola's Moto G, but also the intense Samsung discount policy for some of its models (such as S3 or mini-versions of some devices).
In the US market, Android maintains the leading edge (57,6%), with a strong upward trend, while iOS maintains a share of 35,9% down by 7,8% compared to last year. Windows Phone and BlackBerry complete the relative list of 5,3% and 0,7%, respectively.
