Russian security company Kaspersky has just released a new version of Kaspersky Security Cloud Free, a free cloud-based security application for Windows.
One question that may arise is that Security Cloud Free varies from Kaspersky's Free Antivirus, which 2016 was released in Russia and to world level 2017.

Kaspersky reports that Security Cloud comes with new tools and features that do not have other security products. Please note that Kaspersky Security Cloud Free requires a (free) Kaspersky Account, and that Free Antivirus does not need an account.
This will ask you to log in to a Kaspersky account or create a new one when the application starts. You can not do anything until you log in to your account.
The program displays a range of functions. Apart from the basic functionality of the program there are also some that do not work in the free version of the application.
Kaspersky recommends that you configure the backup and restore parameters that are one of the program features and also install the company's password management application and the extension for Internet Explorer.
Backup is basic but sufficient to back up your most important files. There are options for backing up four different file types and an option for selecting custom locations.
The four available file types are:
All files can be found in My Documents and the desktop.
All photos
All movies and videos.
All music files.
Backups are stored somewhere else on your device or in the storage cloud provided by Kaspersky, and of course they are not free of charge.
Antivirus works as you know. Kaspersky Security Cloud Free performs automatic scans regularly to detect any threats and remove them. You can make complete, fast and custom scans manually at any time. Of course you can schedule scans according to your preferences.
The Password Manager and Secure Connection connections work, but are limited. The app also shows other links for two additional features on the main one screen of the app but are not available in the free version. So if you choose Privacy Protection or Safe Money you will see prompts to upgrade to the paid version.
