Η Kaspersky Lab has patented Light Agent Security Architecture developed for virtual machines. The patent, numbered 9009836, was issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and describes a technology designed to provide virtual machines with full protection against digital threats without affecting their performance.
In virtualized environments, every virtual machine has exactly the part of RAM and the capabilities of the CPU it needs.
Reducing the resources required by each virtual machine therefore means that more machines can be started with the same one hardware.
With today's data, the conventional ones solutions digital security should employ limited resources. However, if a traditional security solution runs on each of the multiple virtual machines located in an infrastructure, then the security tasks consume a lot of the available computing power.
The use of the recently patented technology contributes to the significant reduction of the load. In addition, the installed agent provides more reliable protection compared to the more common agentless approach.
The agent offers access to system memory and processes, while also leveraging additional technologies security, such as Internet control, application and device control solutions.
