Microsoft released update KB5005103 for desktops with Windows 10 running version 1909 of the operating system. This will be the latest optional update for Windows 10 version 1909, according to the company.
For the latest versions (20H2 or 21H1), an update with identical bug fixes will be released in the coming days.
KB5005103 is an optional August 2021 update and brings bug fixes or enhancements made through the company validation program. However, you can always skip it because it is optional and get the fixes with the Patch Tuesday September.
KB5005103 raises the build number of your operating system 18363.1766 and can be installed on devices running version 1909. As mentioned at the beginning, if you are using version 2004, version 20H2 or version 21H1, you should expect a different update that will be released later this month.
On supported devices, the update will appear in Windows Update as:
2021-08 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1909 for x64-based Systems (KB5005103)

"The preview update for Windows 10 of versions 21H1, 20H2 and 2004 will be available soon," the company said.
