KDE Community developers are preparing to release a stable version of Plasma 6.0 at the end of February.
Today, then disposed of the release candidate version of Plasma 6.0 along with updated KDE Gear applications ported to Qt6 and KDE Frameworks 6.0 to be included in the “KDE 6th Megarelease” software.
The KDE community has released the first release candidate of the KDE 6th Megarelease which includes the Qt6/KF6 ported products as well as the flagship Plasma 6.0 desktop shell.
In the previous alpha and beta versions of the KDE 6th Megarelease, KDE Plasma 6.0/KDE Frameworks 6/KDE Gear received many bug fixes to prepare for this major release today. In particular, many Wayland fixes keep coming with Plasma 6 sticking to their plans for a defaulting Wayland session.
Downloads and more details about KDE 6th Megarelease RC1 can be had via kde.org. A second release candidate is scheduled for January 31st, while the actual stable Plasma 6.0 release is scheduled for February 28th.
