The ex convict for hacking Kevin Mitnick, after prison he redefined himself as a specialist penetration tester, security consultant and social engineer, and started selling zero-day exploits at prices starting at $100.000.
As Wired reports, Mitnick last week presented his new business called Absolute Zero Day Exploit Exchange of Mitnick. The company obviously will develop zero-day exploits - that is, the tools that take advantage of unpatched software and operating system errors.
Customers, of course, are people with deep pockets, such as several companies interested in spying on rival companies but also customers from the government. Needless to say, the US National Security Service (NSA) will be a client of the new company if it's not already?
Mitnick told Wired that their sales zero-day by the company began quietly six months ago.
As for his clients, he does not name names, and he does not give numbers about how much zero-day have been sold and how much.
