The popular BitTorrent Kickass Torrents website was once again blocked by Google. Users of Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox που επισκέπτονται το δημοφιλές torrent site Kickass Torrents (ΚΑΤ), θα δουν μπροστά τους μια προειδοποίηση ασφαλείας.
The warning appears in all domains (http://kat.cr or https://kat.cr) and reports that they distribute malicious software.
This issue only affects two browsers we mentioned as Safe Browsing Google blocked the site.
Ο αλγόριθμος Safe Browsing της Google αναφέρει σαν "ανεπιθύμητο λογισμικό", κάτι το οποίο προκαλείται συχνά από κακόβουλο third-party advertising.
In short, either some of the KickassTorrents pages host malware, or Google misdetects them as malicious. This issue usually occurs when one is compromised network ads and starts serving malicious ads.
TorrentFreak contacted the KAT team and replied that this time the block should be false positive. In any case, they are working to remedy the issue.
Two weeks ago, the site was blocked again by the two big browsers, and its managers reportedly quickly removed the malicious advertiser.
Despite the rapid reaction of the KAT team, it took more than two days before Firefox and Chrome again show the page clean.
If you can not wait for this process to finish, you can access the website (at your own risk) by clicking on the details link, or by turning off your browser warnings completely.
