The well-known website Kickass Torrents (KAT) has added an extra layer of security for its users by enabling them to enable two-factor authentication (2FA) from within their account.
The new addition is known as two-factor authentication or 2FA for short and adds a second level of control except from the password.
If activated in an account, the user, in addition to having to enter the correct username and password, must enter a second code that is sent to him via email or as an SMS on his phone.
2FA is a common feature in major Web services such as Facebook and Google, and it may seem extravagant for a torrent site.

If you have a CAT account and you want to use the new feature, log in to the site and enable it from the Settings you will see if you put your mouse on your username in the upper right corner.
KAT administrators recommend users to use applications for cell phones, such as OTP Auth or Free OTP and state that it would be good to avoid it Google Authenticator.
